Requirement for Proof of Negative COVID-19 Test or Recovery from COVID-19 for All Air Passengers Arriving in the United States starts Jan 26.
Cozumel is prepared, the hospitals are all set, the clinics and hospitals of Cozumel have the capacity to carry out the tests in its 2 modalities. In this article you will find the data of the hospitals that, as part of your vacation planning, you can get in touch with and make an appointment in advance for either the PCR or rapid antigen tests.
From the beginning Cozumel has been very PROACTIVE and has done a marvelous job of controlling this virus. Please respect the mask mandate, hand sanitizer, temp checks—-THEY ARE WORKING! You can safely travel here and enjoy the island and the people of Cozumel. Please respect their rules, regulations and protocols.
This is how Cozumel is responding to the new CDC requirements:
NEW Update CDC REQUIRED International flight arriving back into the USA as of January 26th 2021 for now…
YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO PRESENT:
- A negative Antigen test which is less expensive, $45 or less with results the same day via email.
- OR a PCR test …much more expensive $130.
Appointments are recommended in advance, please allow 24 hours for results via email. PLEASE MAKE APPOINTMENTS ASAP.
- An electronic email result or paper print of the COVID-19 negative test result to the airline ticket counter staff. Tests must be taken within 72 hours of your airport departure from Mexico Cancun/Cozumel.

Tests are readily available in Cozumel, Playa del Carmen and Cancun.

Again we don’t know how long this will be in effect, but there’s no need to panic, the Island can easily handle this!
Please also note-there are NO RESTRICTIONS OR REQUIREMENTS flying INTO Mexico, no test results are required.
